Without a payment gateway, your online shop is like a supermarket without a till. Configuring a payment gateway is one of the most important steps in the initial stages of building your shop as without one you cannot accept payment.
1. Start by heading over to Settings > Payment Gateways on your EKM account. Here you will see the payment gateways that you currently have available. To add more payment methods, click Add Payment Method.
A digital vault allows customers to store their credit/debit cards online so that they do not have to manually enter their card details every time they make a purchase. This makes the checkout process much quicker and easier for customers and will increase conversions.
Clicking on the drop-down as shown above, will reveal the digital wallets available to integrate with your EKM account:
Here, you can either Learn More about the digital wallet/payment gateway or Add Gateway to add this as an option for your customers. By adding the gateway you will then receive further instructions of how to integrate your online shop with the gateway you have selected. The majority of the information you will need will come from the gateway provider e.g your Amazon Payments account.
Installing Credit Card gateways mean that customers will have to manually enter their credit/debit card details upon checkout. This is still a very common type of gateway to use however it can take some time for customers to complete the checkout process which may increase the amount of abandoned carts.
By using this type of gateway, you are agreeing with your customers that another type of payment will be carried out aside from the usual online transfer. e.g. Cheque.
To see a list of the other available gateways on your EKM account click on the Looking for more payment gateways? link.
