Installing the Wordpress blog on EKM couldn't be easier. start by heading over to Features > WordPress Blog
Once the WordPress has been installed you will be able to log in to start building your blog.
Note! - The hardcore WordPress users among you will notice that when you login, it may look a little different than usual WordPress. We have installed something called the 'Easy Blogging Interface' in order to make it easy to get up and running with WordPress. As WordPress is a 3rd party platform, our support team can provide support to you as long as you are using this interface. If you choose to go 'Advanced' by clicking on the Advanced mode (this is accessed by clicking in the 'Howdy...' menu top right) our support team will not be able to help you with this and you will need to refer to WordPress's support documentation.
The Dashboard is designed to make getting started with your Wordpress blog as easy as possible, prompting you with what you need to do in order to start blogging.
The 'Customise Your Site' link will take you through to the 'Manage Themes' section which will allow you to pick from one of the pre installed themes, changing the available colours and options in order to get the look and feel that you want.
You also have links for writing your first blog post, visiting your site (blog) and managing widgets & comments on the site.
In the 'Right Now' box you have some quick stats such as how many posts, pages and categories you have on the site, how many tags are being used as well as stats regarding the comments on your post.
If you click on the 'Howdy...' link in the top right of the dashboard, you will be able to edit your profile settings.
Creating a new post
You can create a new post by either clicking on the '+ New' button on the top tool bar or going to My Posts and clicking on the 'Add New' button.
Once you have done this you will see an edit box similar to the one below
You can see the area to enter the title. You have two options when using the editor. You can use the Visual version which is similar to the default editor you get in Powershop being a WYSIWYG editor, or you can click on the Text version which allows you to enter HTML markup in order to create your post content. The Add media button allows you to add in Pictures to the content of your post.
The Publish section allows you to Save a Draft, Preview the Post or Publish it. Within those main buttons you have a couple of options. You can can change the status from Draft to Pending Review so you know where you are with the post. Under the Visibility options you have the option of making it Public (everyone can see it) Private (It's Hidden) or Password Protecting the post, meaning if you wished to, you can restrict access to people having the password.
The Publish icon with the Calendar allows you to alter when a post will be published. By default this is immediate but if you were going on holiday for example, you could line up your posts ready to publish while you're away.
Allows you to categorise the post content of your blog by adding new categories, and ticking the one you wish the new Post to be added to.
Tags are good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and also for users who are searching for particular stuff. i.e a blog about films might have tags for comedy, horror, romance etc. so that a user can quickly get to the right stuff.
This is the image that appears at the top of the post and also in the listings on categories, homepage, search results etc. If you don't set this, it will be blank.
This section allows you to manage your posts, providing you a full list of the posts you currently have on the site. You also have the ability to carry out certain actions in bulk by ticking the boxes next to the posts and clicking on the 'Bulk Actions' drop down menu.
Hovering over the post Title will give you some actions you can carry out for the post Edit | Quick Edit | Trash | View
It also gives you Author information, the category that the post resides in, the tags that have been applied to the post and how many comments have been left on the post.
Each blog has access to a number of templates that resemble the newer ekmPowershop templates which can be selected and managed through this section.
We don't currently allow people to chose their own theme for the security and stability sake of the network.

Widgets are basically modules of content that you can move around the predefined areas in the theme. For example, he Facebook module or widget can be in the sidebar, or in footer column 1 or any of the other areas.
Simply drag the required widget on to the area you want it to appear. Fill in any settings that relevant to that widget and click save. If you then view the front end of the blog the widget should now be visible.
Inactive widgets is basically a holding area for widgets you don't want to appear but don't want to lose the settings for as you may use them in the future.
As you add more plugins or enabled different features more widgets will become available.
As with themes, we have added a number of predetermined plugins. You cannot currently install your own plugins due to these needing to be checked for security issues.
Some plugins have settings which need to be configured for them to work properly. As you enable these plugins a link to their settings page will appear in this section.
