On the EKM online shop platform, Features are apps in a way - specific functionalities which you can add to your account to help you manage and run your shop effectively. Which features you install are entirely up to you and in this Guide, we will be looking at both free and chargeable Features.
Locating the Features page
1. From the Dashboard, click the Features tab:
2. This will take you to the Features page, which when your shop is brand new, will look like this:
1. To install a Feature, you simply need to click the icon and then click the green Install Feature button:
2. Once the feature has been installed, it will launch automatically. You can return to the Features page by clicking the Features tab, where you’ll see it listed under ‘Installed Features’.
To uninstall a Feature, you need to click the ‘Edit Installed Features’ text on the top right-hand side of the page, before clicking the red ‘X’ symbol next to the Feature you want to uninstall:
Note: If you still have some Features installed when you have removed one, you will need to click the green ‘Done’ button in the top right-hand corner to finish editing your Features.
[warning] Some of the chargeable Features, such as Email Marketing or Web Statistics will require you to contact our Customer Support Team to cancel the account for you. Simply uninstalling the Feature will not cancel the account. [/warning]
The majority of the Features on the EKM online shop platform are free but as there's so many of them to choose from, I've separated them into different groups.
These Features need to be used on every EKM online shop, as they help both you as the owner and search engines discover your online shop.
This Feature is necessary to embed Google Code for Google Ads and Google Analytics, as well as viewing the Product Feed generated by your EKM online shop.
If you’re still building your EKM online shop or making major changes that you don’t want customers to see until the big reveal, install Password Protect to hide everything behind a password wall until you’re ready.
This feature allows you to see what customers have been searching for on your EKM online shop, giving you valuable insight into your most popular Products.
|Abandoned Cart Statistics
When you’ve installed this feature, you’ll be able to see how many Abandoned Carts have been saved on your EKM online shop. This information is useful for identifying ‘sticking points’ with your content.
With this feature, you can prevent users from visiting your EKM online shop by using their IP address. You can block individuals or full countries, which is useful for reducing fraudulent orders.
You need this feature to correctly label your EKM online shop content for search engines. If you want to list on eBay or Google Shopping too, it’s essential that you install and configure this feature.
Install this feature to add, edit and delete Products on your EKM online shop in bulk using spreadsheets. It can also be used to download other information such as Customer Details and Orders.
Use this feature to link your associated social media platforms - such as Facebook Pages, Instagram and Twitter - to your EKM online shop.
|Advanced Inventory Manager
Probably the most useful of all of the features, Advanced Inventory Manager can be used to view all of the stock on your EKM online shop at once. You can add, edit and delete Products, create and delete categories, perform bulk price changes and lots more with this feature.
|Custom Meta Data
With this feature, you can customise the metadata for your entire EKM online shop as well as individual Products and Categories.
If you plan to add your Products to Google Shopping and eBay, you will need to install this feature to give each Product attributes such as EAN, GTIN, MPN and SKU. You can also use this feature when setting up Product Filters on your Category pages too.
Customer Experience Features
All of the Features here are specifically designed to provide a good experience for your customers. You may not need to install all of these, but it does depend on the kind of Products that you are selling on your EKM online shop.
This Feature allows you to select and display logos from a number of credit/debit cards and recognised Payment Gateways on your EKM online shop.
|03 Phone Number
Installing this Feature allows you to get a free 03 phone number for customers to contact you on, which looks a lot more professional than displaying a standard mobile phone number on your EKM online shop.
This allows customers to your EKM online shop to create an account where they can view their previous orders.
Installing this Feature allows you to configure and offer Loyalty Points to your customers which encourage repeat visits.
|Product Image Zoom
If your EKM online shop sells Products which have fine, intricate details, this Feature allows customers to really zoom into your existing Product Images.
|Recently Viewed Products
Installing this feature will display a list of a customer’s Recently Viewed Products on Product Pages, further encouraging additional sales.
Installing this Feature allows you to configured Related Products on Product Pages to encourage additional sales.
When installed, this Feature allows your customers to leave Reviews which are then displayed on the Product Pages.
In this Feature, you can create offers and promotions to encourage sales and customer loyalty. Create coupon codes, free delivery and discounted offers, customising the values and amounts of each discount.
If you have created a Facebook page for your EKM online shop, you can use Facebook Messenger to chat with your customers when they visit the shop. This encourages Facebook interactions as well as shop custom.
Many of these Features are account specific. You may not need to install any of them, but it depends what it is that you're selling. For example, if you have moved your shop content from another e-commerce platform, you will probably need to install 301 Redirects or if you wish to sell Products solely from Inkthreadable, you will need to install the EKM API.
When installed, this Feature generates an API key which is necessary for integrations with third-party platforms such as Inkthreadable and Two Fifteen.
|Back in Stock Statistics
This Feature lets you know which of your out of stock Products are most in demand from your customers.
This third party feature is chargeable, but only if you process more than 100 orders per month; any less than that and it’s free. Channel Grabber is a multi-platform stock system that keeps track of your levels across different accounts such as Amazon and eBay.
If you have transferred your Products from a different e-commerce platform, this Feature allows you to redirect from your old shop URLs to your EKM online shop.
This Feature is only chargeable if you have more than 100 Contacts saved in all of your Contacts Group, so it’s very useful for beginners to email marketing, allowing shop owners to send email newsletters to consenting customers.
If you’re going away on your jollies, install this Feature to make your customers aware that your shipping times will change until you return.
|Product Summary in Categories
When installed, this Feature allows you to list a short description underneath each Product which is visible from the Category Page.
This feature allows you to add promotional stickers over your Product Images so customers can easily see which Products are discounted or new. You can also upload your own .png images to use as Promo Stickers too.
The Bulk Discounts feature allows you to offer a discounted unit price for a given Product if more than one is ordered. Note: This feature cannot be used on Products with Variants.
You can install Facebook Pixel which will allow you to discover what actions customers are taking on your EKM online shop.
Install this feature to import Products from your eBay Shop account onto your EKM online shop. You can also export Products (without Variants) from your EKM online shop onto eBay.
An ideal Feature for beginners to the world of blogging - this allows you to create a ‘lite’ version of a Wordpress Blog - perfect for letting customers know all about your Products and your EKM online shop.
When installed on your Android mobile phone, you can check Orders and View Customers on your EKM online shop.
The Features listed here all incur costs and but they all help towards the success of your EKM online shop.
Installing this feature and opening a Postcode Ferret account allows you to offer customers a quicker checkout process by automatically searching for their address based on their postcode.
Adding this feature to your EKM online shop allows customers to ask you questions within a chat window. You can customise the chat window and offline messages too, providing customers who perhaps don’t use social media of any kind to contact you without having to write an email.
This feature analyses how many visitors you have to your EKM online shop, what pages they have visited, where they came from to discover your content and much more! It’s an ideal platform for beginners to e-commerce analytics.
Towards the bottom of the Features page, you’ll see icons for third-party features. These are chargeable features provided by other platforms who have created integrations with EKM online shop.
These features are completely optional of course. To use them, you need to click the icon and then click the green ‘Learn More’ button on the bottom right-hand side of the page. You’ll then need to enter your contact details so that the provider of the third party feature can contact you and talk you through integrating their platform with your EKM online shop:
